Sannuo Chemical held an emergency response drill for sudden environmental incidents.

Recently, an emergency response drill for sudden environmental incidents in Mengjin District was successfully held at Luoyang Sannuo Chemical Co., Ltd. The Mengjin Branch of the Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, the Fire Brigade (Northern District), Luoyang Petrochemical Hospital, and other units took part in the drill.

This exercise simulated a hydrogen chloride storage tank leak at the company’s Class C tank farm, with the potential to trigger secondary environmental pollution and jeopardize the quality of nearby water bodies and the atmospheric environment. It comprehensively demonstrated all elements and links of the emergency response process—information reporting, emergency response, on-site handling, emergency monitoring, medical rescue, evacuation and resettlement, and overall incident management—fully highlighting the coordinated and collaborative emergency response capabilities of all departments and units.

Invited experts and the head of the Environmental Emergency Center of the Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau each provided commentary on the exercise. The scenario was well‑designed, task assignments were clearly defined, organization was meticulous, and command was orderly. Participants responded promptly and demonstrated high morale, successfully achieving the objectives of strengthening the team, accumulating experience, and enhancing capabilities. The exercise holds significant guiding value and has built up practical experience for responding swiftly, systematically, and efficiently to sudden environmental incidents.

Going forward, the Mengjin Branch will take this environmental emergency response drill as an opportunity to advance environmental emergency management with stricter standards, more concrete measures, and greater efforts. It will ensure the ongoing strengthening of emergency preparedness for sudden environmental incidents, urge enterprises to further refine their emergency response plans and conduct regular drills, and help them master emergency response procedures, identify gaps, and address shortcomings, thereby effectively enhancing their emergency response capabilities. At the same time, the Branch will continue to improve the environmental emergency coordination and joint‑response mechanism, bolster collaborative operational capacity, and raise the level of prevention, early warning, and emergency response to sudden environmental incidents, with the aim of minimizing the occurrence of environmental pollution incidents and secondary accidents, and safeguarding the ecological and environmental safety of the entire district.
